As a young boy, I grew up with a Dad who loved the outdoors. My Dad took me hunting and fishing from a very early age, Bowhunting deer up north, fishing in Canada, and hunting small game around home. It wasn’t long before I also had a love for the outdoors. I developed a passion for competitive archery.
Fast forward, I am now retired from the Ilinois Department of Corrections, married with four sons, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. I’m truly living the dream. Although I now have a small archery shop, I still have a passion for everything outdoors, and I enjoy sharing what I have learned with anyone who would like to try archery or the outdoors. Since its early days, being a part of the USSA has given me a way to take kids hunting, sometimes for the first time. Most of my best memories outdoors are not of my big deer or fish; it’s the smiles of a kid with their first deer or turkey.
